Switching board for an industrial platform

Projects / Industrial automation and embedded control

Industrial switching board

24 V industrial switching board for routing power, actuator loads, LED loads and signal circuits inside a moving industrial platform.

Task

What had to be solved

In the original system, power, signals and actuators were connected through many separate wires. This made assembly, service and repeatability harder. The task was to move the switching and routing to a separate board while preserving the existing connection logic.

Result

What the project reached

A compact industrial switching module was developed. It reduces manual wiring, simplifies equipment assembly and makes device connections on the platform clearer and more repeatable.

Engineering context

Important constraints

The board is not the main controller, but it affects assembly reliability and serviceability.

Dimensions, clear connection topology and installation convenience were important.

Switching circuits had to work with the loads and signals of an industrial platform.

Work done

What was included

Switching-board schematic design.

PCB layout within specified dimensions.

24 V power-distribution circuits.

Relay channels and terminal connections.

Gerber, BOM, 3D model and production materials.

Prototype preparation and materials for the first small batch.

Details

Engineering project description

Board purpose

The board acts as a service module between the control cabinet and devices on the platform: actuators, LED loads, signal lines and auxiliary circuits.

Practical effect

Instead of scattered cable harnesses and manual switching, the equipment gets a repeatable module with a clear wiring scheme. This reduces assembly mistakes and simplifies service work.

Production handoff

Along with the schematic and PCB, production files were prepared: Gerbers, BOM, a 3D model and materials for prototype manufacturing and the first batch.
